Group Swim Training at Meyer Center
For those OMC members who swim as part of their multisport training there is an opportunity to bring back Fridays as group swim training. Historically, as I have been told, Friday mornings were master swim training, from 5:30 am to 7:00 am. While no coaching was available, it was a time for competitive swimmers and triathletes to get together and train as a group. I'd like to bring that back. My plan is to post a weekly workout that is aimed toward competitors in the Olympic distance and Half-Iron distance category. Those who are focusing on sprint distance would trim out some of the work out, and those who wish to work on Ironman distance can add some in (or probably have a formal training plan of their own). The weekly workout will be periodized insofar as it will initially focus on endurance base training, and over time add more muscular endurance and speed training as we get to the build and peak phase of the training year. I will be there on Fridays. With permission from Meyer Center we can occasionally video each other and have a chance to critique form, etc. I'm open to ideas. This is just a first step. Hope it is something valuable to add to the club as we continue to grow.
